I decided to have it in the end. My youngest is vulnerable for various reasons and after taking him to have it done I felt real guilty not doing the same....but, I'm so fed up with this talk of covid passports that I might not bother having the second.

Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated the day after Christmas Day, occurring on the second day of Christmastide. Though it originated as a holiday to give gifts to the poor, today Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday. It originated in the United Kingdom and is celebrated in a number of countries that previously formed part of the British Empire.

Same in Norway two days of holliday. First and second day of Christmas (25th and 26th). Christmas eve is the day we celebrate (in Norway), and some people work half time that day. Schools and many people have free for more than a week. Family is very important during Christmas. We celebrate together with family, often with uncle, ants and grandparents/grand children. Many travel to celebrate together with family. In my childhood we prepared for christmas from october. Making presents, cleaning, writing christmas letters or cards and make food. The new year celebrations is something else. One week later and not much family, but with friends. Originally posted by Torborg

It is interesting to get acquainted with different cultures.
I'm glad to hear that in Norway, family is very important.
Respect for elders is a necessity.

We don't call the beginning of a new year Christmas, it isn't even the end. New year is new year and is the first of January.

Our official Christmas holiday is two days, Christmas day and boxing day, but it varies in different countries.Originally posted by HuwR

Oh...
it's interesting..
It is different in each country ...
