Version 2.0.0.0 coming soon
15 Apr 2020, 12:36

Next release will be version 2.0.0.0

Although here it currently says Forum version 1.1.6.12 it is actually the start of 2.0.0.0 beta.

There have been quite a few changes and bug fixes together with a new layout template (template still a WIP)

If you get any problems please post in the bug forum, if you would like to see anything new in version 2, post them in the suggestion forum.
Please don't post any issues with the layout/themes as I am working on them.

I also find it difficult to know where to go to last post. In the yellow (marked below) is where I click, but that is not intuitive to me

It depends which page you are looking at, those (as in your image) are forum lists so there is no jump to arrow, the topic link automatically takes you to the last post in the forum. You get the jump to arrow when viewing topic lists i.e. Active topics or a forums posts etc.

Another update here, mostly refactoring of css files and javascript, pages should load a little quicker as now fewer requests for css files.

Everything seems to align better on mobile now, the icons at the bottom were kind of wonkey, I won't get a chance to use a pc until later but this looks very good and is pretty fast, I like this version thumbsUp

Good for us and for Snitz.smile What is furloughed?
Torborg
07 May 2020, 13:11

That was a new word to me, but I have google. [^] and can translate. That furlough thing was not good, sad But nice for Snitz blush I also use more time with the forum now. Our forum can be useful now that we can not meet. I hope to get more people back, we have lost a lot of people to Facebook.

It basically means I'm getting paid 80% of my salary do stay at home bigsmile For me it's not too bad as we have no mortgage/rent etc so our outgoings are fairly low and I'm on a pretty decent salary even only getting 80% of it, but know some people will be struggling, especially the younger people who have big mortgages or high rents, it's going to be tough, but a lot better than being losing your job.

Missing the work banter, but enjoying being at home in the nice weather smile

more changes coming for the photalbum's as well as lazy loading I have added infinite scrolling to the members thumbnail view.
Infinite scrolling is a web-design technique that loads content continuously as the user scrolls down the page, eliminating the need for pagination.

I now have 5 bigsmile One is my backup server which backs up my web servers remotely, one is a DNS/reverse proxy web server, one a music server for the house, and another is a portable music server, so the new Pi 4 8Gb version is currently for playing with at the moment.

It's sounds fun. We also have, I think just two, rasberry pies. That's my husbands domain, and I understand how much fun it is. To play is important smile

Good to hear that you are back at work! smile
I'm not sure how to use the new version. The template is very different from what I have and I don't want to change the look at my forum now. Then I probably need to install this as a test version and work with the CSS to make it look more like what we already have. I understand that I can change the spacing, colours, lines etc in the CSS. Can i change the six column thing? Now there is less space for the text and more air in between the parts. I try to, but I can't get used to it these columns. It would be nice with one of the templates more like the old version... I know that's probably a hopeless question dead

That I can't be sure of smile as not tested it all in the old layout, but some may not as it needs the newer layout

I think my theme looks as the rest. I couldn't find any difference except the colors and logo? I also tried to turn off and on "new layout" in admin section. Couldn't spot any difference.

I'm still working on next release, just adding some extra stuff to the api for Torborg and hopefully will be able to enable full SSL email now I have removed the existing email template engine. Don't worry it will still support the templates, I just had to write a new modules to deal with it. I also wanted to get the WIndows and the Mono version to use the same codebase which I have now done, so a bit more testing and then hopefully a release in the next few weeks.
