I decided it was about time I upgraded my old DSLR, so have bought my self a Nikon D3500 and very nice it is too.

Taken with 300mm zoom lens, handheld (lens uses image stabilization)

We get a lot of visitors to our bird feeders, but the starling fledglings are the funniest (and noisiest). This spring we have had
Starlings
Blackbirds
Sparrows
Blue tits
Crested tits
Collared doves
Wood pigeon
Magpies
Squirrel
and today some newly fledged Pied wagtails

Plus the constant overhead cries of the Red kites as they circle the estate.

Nice, I use Canon but I think the Nikons have richer colours so it's defo a good choice...
I'm in London where the birds are pretty standard, Wrens, Sparrows Blackbirds, Magpies, Crows, Woodies, Blue & Great tits and for the first time this year Goldfinches, gorgeous birds but really messy eaters which is attracting the Woodies and they're trampling on our young plants boggled we don't get Kites here but they're a regular sight on one of the lakes I fish, they mix well with the Buzzards there..
I'll try to get a pic of the Goldfinches soon!

I used to have a classic Canon A1 was a great camera, way ahead of it's time when it came out, but I never really liked their digital offerings, I always found the pictures were dull and often under exposed. So far I can't fault the Nikon, it takes really nice photo's even with my shaky hands which isn't bad with a 300mm zoom lens stuck on it.

Dull, how dare you bigsmile I don't find that myself but I have noticed that the Nikons add some extra colour that often isn't there but it's done in a real nice way so isn't a criticism, it's a good thing.

We have a big sweet cherry three. This year it is full of berries and birds... The berries are not ripe yet. Just have a slight red color on som of them. We are lucky if we can taste one or two. Same thing every year, but this year there is so much - berries AND birds. The birds are funny. We must try to forget the berries and enjoy the sounds and life in the three. I guess.

I know what you mean, we have one at the front of the house (although the cherries are not human edible sad) but the birds love them, the pavement is covered in cherry pips when they start on them.
