I am going to move this test site to a new server in the next few days. I want to test out a different host to see how their server perform vs this one.
Other sites will not be affected, just this one.

Not impressed so far, took 4 days to make the VPS active
It should have
Intel® Xeon® 3.6GHz - Quad Core
8GB RAM | 350GB HDD Space

it currently has
Intel® Xeon® 3.6GHz - One Core
6GB RAM

What host and what was there excuse on the spec difference.
Heard today that lunarpages in the uk have oversubscribed there VMs and the CPUs are been restricted and effected several big sites.

They didn't offer an excuse, just apologised for the mistake. It is epichosts, WIndows Business VPS, server appears to be in France. I'm pushing the limits of my current VPS's ram and my current host does not offer one with more ram, so was looking in to alternatives. I can't fault my current host, but they are not cheap, but am finding you definitely get what you pay for

Its a small one man band firm mate. No phone number and I've tired live chat with them for last hour and it's not once been up. Stay clear lol.

As long as their platform is stable I can live with slow support as I shouldn't need it

Now it has all its guts it seems to perform ok. I am going to enable the page timer module so I can do some direct comparisons of render times. just need to finish copying all the forum files.
I will post a link when done so you can take a look too

Seems reasonable performance and is marginally faster than this server but not by much, but it is the only thing on the server currently

if you notice stray Page Generated in messages, don't worry, timer is a bit quirky because of async requests
